We will be using iClicker as an interactive tool during lectures for attendance and to keep active participation during class.
If you want, you may use both an iClicker remote device and subscribe to iClicker REEF. That will allow you to use your remote device during class, but access the questions on-line. If you do so, you will have to purchase both the remote and the REEF subscription.
Once you have chosen how to participate, and either purchased your remote device or created your iClicker REEF account, you will need to register in the CS-211 class. The easiest way to do this is to open up CS-211 A 0 in myCourses. In the left hand options column (at the bottom) is an item called "iClicker sync". Click on that button, and launch the iClicker sync tool.
See also the myCourses Help & Info for Students web page under "i>CLICKERS: STUDENT REGISTRATION". Note that I am using iClicker Cloud, so that is how you must register, no matter what kind of device you have.
Note that you must create an iClicker REEF account in order to register for this class. If you are using an iClicker remote, you do not have to pay for an iClicker REEF subscription, but you do need to create an account, and specify your remote ID in that account. You may be asked to buy a subscription to iClicker REEF, but you may ignore that request.
All students must register for iClicker in order to get credit for attending this course.
After the first couple of classes to get everybody on-line, we will start using iClicker for attendance. If you cannot make it to class, please send me, tbartens@binghamton.edu, an e-mail before class starts. If you do not send an e-mail, and do not join the class with your iClicker device or REEF account, you will be marked as absent, and that will affect your participation grade.
Also, during the lecture, I will occasionally ask iClicker questions. These will not be graded, but failure to answer will reduce your participation grade.
