You may use either the Windows Machines in the LNG-103 lab, or you may bring your own laptop and use it, assuming your laptop has the correct level of the Java Development Kit, as well as "git" installed.
If you are using the Windows Machines in the LNG-103 lab, log on using your PODS userid and password. For information on accessing Linux Desktops using VMware/Horizon, see the Using VMware web page. For questions about the U-Drive, see the help desk U-Drive page
Please do not use Eclipse for the labs yet. I will not allow the use of Eclipse on the first in-lab test, so you will need to be familiar with the command line methodology of coding and running Java programs. I will also not answer questions about Eclipse until we are all familiar with the command line methodology. These early labs and homework are a great opportunity to really learn how to use the javac and java commands outside of Eclipse.
Once you are logged in, open a web browser, and navigate to the URL posted in the front of the class by the CA. This URL will be a GitHub Classroom Invitation URL. See the Using GitHub web page for more on using GitHub. Accept the GitHub classroom invitation to create a repository for the lab. The specific instructions for the lab will be on the resulting web page.
