First week, in order to gain experience and speed in modeling, I made practice by sketching basic objects such as tables chairs and doors. Google Sketchup provides a variety of tools which make modeling easier. Fine Arts building is consist of 5 different parts (including the museum) and some parts of the building was asymmetric . Therefore, in my first week, I tried to understand the concept and get used to all the tools provided in order to draw complex objects.

Second week, I started to model one part of the Fine arts building where the John Arthur cafe is located. Before starting it, I have been provided the blue prints of the Fine Arts building since the whole model was supposed to be realistic. For the exterior design of John Arthur cafe, I used the tables and chairs that I was practicing with at first week.

I have shown my model to the senior project class during my end of semester presentation.

I have started to model second part of the building where the sculpture studios are located. That part caused me to spend too much time since the ground floor of the building was not laying on a flat surface. I could finish the remaining parts on time since I had enough experience.

The only problem that I encounter was that I spent too much time to make my model precise. I have even calculated the length between windows, doors etc. That was unnecessary and if I made my model without thinking too much for such details, I would finish my work much earlier. Blueprints were just too complex and it caused a considerable time for me to figure out the details of each building.
