2012 Core Mural
Wall-art and Core
The Core community has a long history of decorating our living space with colorful and fun murals. Since the community was temporarily relocated to Whitney hall, our walls have, unfortunately, been rather bare.
Process
For my Core project, I decided to rectify this situation. Since the robotics portion of Core was rather under-represented in the 2011-2012 year, I settled on robots as the subject of my design. Additionally, viewers experience greater feelings of recognition, interest, and empathy toward humanoid robots than toward the simple image of a computer, or more abstract conceptual representations of engineering. Also robots are fun to draw.
The total process, from initial design to finished product, took about two weeks. The mural can currently be found on the third floor of Whitney hall in the Dickinson community.
