The Department of Computer Science at State University of New York at Binghamton invites applicants, who are interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in the areas of Energy-Aware Experimental Computer Systems (EAECS), to apply for the Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship. The EAECS research area is quite broad and addresses the energy consumption and related security issues in embedded systems, data centers/clouds, operating systems, and distributed systems, as given in Figure 1.

Successful applicants will be supported through the GAANN Fellowship grant for one to three years, and will receive a stipend of $30,000 and full tuition during this period. Subject to satisfactory academic performance, the GAANN Fellows will continue receiving financial support, in the form of Teaching Assistants or Research Assistants. Each Fellow will be funded for a total of five years or until completion of the PhD (whichever comes first).
