I started my academic career at Broome Community College in 1964 as an Electrical Technology major. In 1966 I went to work for the New York State Electric and Gas Corp as an Engineering Technician in the area of Distribution System Protection and Coordination. In 1967, like many other people my age, I received my draft notice and took an industrial, four year leave of absence with the U.S. Army. My military career was spent in the Army Security Agency in Herzogenaurach, Germany where I worked as a Communications Team Chief and the Non-commisioned Officer-in-charge of a company level Signal Maintence Shop. For me the Army was a good experience and I learned a lot.

Returning to civilian life in 1972 I returned to work at NYSE&G and used my G.I. Benefits to complete both my Bachelors and Masters degrees at Binghamton University. Upon completing my bachelors degree in 1976 I started to teach Computer Science and Data Processing courses at Broome Community College as an adjunct faculty member. In 1978, upon completing my M.S. in Binghamton Universities School of Advanced Technology, I joined the Binghamton University School of Continuing Education and remained there as adjunct faculty until transferred to the Watson School Computer Science Department in 1985.

In 1980 I left NYSE&G and went to work for IBM Corporation at its Federal Systems Division in Owego, NY. IBM sold the facility and people to Loral Corporation in 199x and they in turn sold the facility and people to the Lockheed Martin Corporation. I worked for three companies and and mamaged to keep the same parking space in the parking lot.

In the Fall of 2001 I accepted a full-time position with Binghamton University and now occupy room P35 on the 3rd floor of the Watson Building.

Way down deep I'm a computer nerd, my favorite topics in computing are: anything to do with the Web, client/server programming on the Internet and network computer games. Other interests close to my heart are:
